This is especially for those of you out there who find yourself constantly swapping between workouts and meal plans, looking for the ideal solution to your weight loss problems. I’m one of those people, and I was able to finally be my problems finding the right workout for me. But more about that later.

Just to give you a quick run down, it turns out that I was 35 pounds overweight after giving birth to my first son, and had issues naturally losing all. So I tried various supplements and diet pills, as well as the newest diet that. Nothing seemed to work, despite countless hours spent in the gym or in the sauna or creating the perfect portions of my meals. All I was doing was losing a ton of money on trying to figure out what would finally solve all of my weight loss woes.

“Weeks to a Bikini Body?”

I was on my couch watching television when I noticed a young woman come onto a show to discuss her fitness ideals. She started to say a lot of things that really made sense, which led me to looking into her. Her name? Kayla Itsines.

From googling her, I was introduced to the ideal of her bikini body guide workout, a program she had created on her own in order to help people get their ideal beach bodies in a time period she described as “12 weeks or less”. Really?

I note: I’m pretty skeptical naturally, but especially so when it comes to fitness programs after being burned so many times. So it’s always a red flag when one promises fantastic results in a short period of time. But 12 weeks isn’t really all that short – it’s three months. That’s plenty of time to see decent results. But the promise every single person that tries out the guide will be able to lose 40 pounds in that period? It’s a bold claim, to say the least.

But, I wanted to review the program, and honestly at that point I was a little desperate so I was willing to give Kayla the shot. Unfortunately, months later would prove that the bikini guide program was indeed a waste of time, money, and effort. Which isn’t to say that it was totally useless, it actually had a lot of merit. But there was a much better workout that I wish I had spent my time on earlier on. I’ll bring it up later, but for now this going to my experience while buying the bikini body guide.

Who Is Kayla Itsines?

This is the first question you should be asking yourself when you consider any sort of workout. Who is the person is actually selling you the program? But a trustworthy? Would you like it to be a personal trainer, if you happen to have the option? Can you trust the words that are coming out of their mouth? Looking into Kayla Itsines, I’m surprised to learn that she’s only 24 years old and a fitness model from Australia. Her age was a huge red flag for me.Kayla Itstines Waterbottle

I don’t have anything against youngsters, but how can I really trust someone so inexperienced to help me transform my body?

I did some more digging into her back and my fears were alleviated upon learning that she went to the Australian Institute of fitness to get her college degree, and also spent several years working as a personal trainer. It’s pretty clear that during this time. She must’ve been working with a lot of women and eventually started to learn patterns what would produce the best results. I’m guessing she began to save all this information to what would eventually evolve into the PDF we know now as the bikini guide.

I can admire someone with the drive and capacity to create their entire workout program from scratch as well as to spread awareness for it and herself through solution. That’s right, she was in charge of all of her own self-promotion. At that point her aides have become more of a problem than a car, she must’ve been working for almost her entire life in order to get this going. The least I could do is give it a try.

What is the Bikini Body Guide?

The next question is what actually is the program that she’s offering. As it turns out Kayla’s workout is to separate workout guides that are both $69.97. That’s right, the BBG 1.0 and the BBG 2.0 are both 12 week programs (1.0 – Week 1-12; 2.0 – Week 13-24) that each cost $70. Essentially, your paying full price for each half of her work. She also has a nutrition guide called the help nutrition guide which costs an additional $69.97. She does not offer any discount codes or coupons, but instead of violence used to purchase them in bundles to get a slight discount. If you get just the workouts, you can save about $20. If you get the bundle that includes all three programs, you get a free exercise guide that is valued at $20.

Overall, if you want the complete bikini body program, you looking at spending $210.

The bikini body workouts is a PDF that is 189 pages, and includes all of the workouts that you need to slim down as fast as possible according to Kayla Itsines.

The H.E.L.P. Nutrition Guide (Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Plan) is the eating plan that will help you learn which foods to incorporate into your diet in which foods to avoid. It also has some helpful information about things such as mealtime or intermittent fasting. Additionally, it comes with a vegetarian option as well as caters to gluten intolerant lactose intolerant people. This is by far the most versatile piece of information that Kayla offers. It’s too bad it’s so expensive.

What’s NOT in the Kayla Itsines Workout Program?

That we talked about what’s in the program, it’s time for me to mention what is it in the program that probably should be. I’m drawing conclusions based off of what I’ve gotten and other workout programs that I’ve tried out.

For starters, she’s missing an entire workout. Normally, you get a routine that can last you around half the year or the ENTIRE year for a payment of around $50-$70. Instead, Kayla Itsines has created that, split it in half, and charged full price for it.

The guide is also missing any sort of mind blowing information that might make up for the outrageous pricing. Frankly, this very little in this guide they could get out of a thorough Google search. For Kayla charge such a crazy price for actually highway robbery. All she did was format the information in a way that made it slightly more easily digestible for newcomers to working. And while this is certainly helpful, I certainly don’t believe that it’s worth $70.

Also lacking is any sort of supplementary material. She doesn’t include any sort of instructional videos, no bonuses for joining her program, no free advice. Aussie provides is the bare minimum that she could and still get away with it. I prefer other programs such as the Jen Ferruggia bikini body workout when it comes to level of care given to their customers.

The Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide is a bare-bones collection of information. Most of the information is also readily available only for FREE.

So Why Is This Guide So Popular?

I think that it really comes down to the popularity of the creator, Kayla Itsines herself. When you get right down to it, there are many other programs that are way more comprehensive and beneficial to their customers. A because Kayla is so popular, many more people are actually trying out her workout. Whether or not they stick to it, they are being exposed to it and spreading word of it the word of the mouth.

Negatives

The main drawback of this program is that it’s so expensive. You have to spend about $210 to get the complete bikini body guide, and then you also need to buy various of equipment or at least a gym membership in order to perform many of the exercises. Some of the things that Kayla requires you to get include a yoga mat and ball, dumbbells, a bench, a fit bit, and more. These are what Iike to call HIDDEN COSTS, and they are a pain in the ass to my wallet.

Then there’s the help nutrition guide, which asks that you consume 1600 calories a day, which is actually below the daily recommended value for women. That means that Kayla intentionally asks you to eat an amount that would have a negative impact on your metabolism and your mental health. No thank you.

But Does It Work?bbg

So I tried the workout for exactly 18 weeks, not contacted us all the most results in the initial two weeks. However, after that, I hit a plateau and actually began to progress in my progress. Looking back, I can tell that:

The exercises that Kayla provides are not ideal for weight loss.
She requires that you workout every single day, which is simply not possible when you’re like me – a busy mom to kids to take care as well as a full-time job that you have to maintain.
You also need to keep eating below 1600 calories a day, an amount that really wore down on until I began to achieve an occasional binge.

While you can certainly blame me for some of these failures, I believe that the way the workout was actually constructed contributed to the likelihood of these failures occurring period.

I saw much better results switching to the Jen Ferruggia workout instead. Highly recommend that if you’re looking for a good program, you look towards that guide instead.

Expensive. VERY expensive.
Results not long term.
Guide is essentally split in half.
No insutrctional videos or supporting material.

Kayla Itsines Review – Week 1

So, I purchased the Kayla Itsines bikini body guide I just wanted to give you guys a good review that shows unbiased opinion on how well it works, and whether or not I regret the purchase. A quick pointer on age: I am 27. Around the age were my metabolism started slowing down, but not so old that this program is not tailored for me. In fact, I would argue that I exactly in the target each the bikini body guide. Will I be joining her wall of impressive transformations? I doubt it. Especially with the diet plan and exercises being hidden behind a extra pay wall.

While it’s not hidden per se. But the fact is that you have to spend over $200 to get the entire bikini body guide workout from Kayla Itsines. And I don’t care what age you are or how deeply you want to experience fantastic transformation, that’s pretty expensive. By the way, you can already tell where this week one review is heading.

I tried the program for 2 weeks.

I’ve seen a lot of the impressive transformations that people have thanks to Kayla Itsines in her diet plan and workout program. But now? I’m pretty sure does great results which has because people were trying out her program were motivated enough to succeed. Meaning that they could have had fantastic results with any workout program they picked. There are many reviews that you cover disdaining same topic, praising the information that Kayla Itsines provides, but at the same time admitting the other workouts could have given the exact same amount guidance, or in some cases even more, for a cheaper price. If I had known that, I would not have sprung extra money to purchase the diet plan from Kayla. Nor would I have invested in both version 1 and version 2 of her bikini body guide. But I digress.

Conclusion

Overall, I know that I would not be joining the successful transformations that people have. After one week I was done. Her diet plan was basic, with very little options and extremely low calorie limit 1500 cal. Now, this isn’t so bad if you just want to diet and nothing else. Combining that calorie restriction with a rigorous workout? Borderline dangerous.

That’s my review of the Bikini Body Guide. If you want a good bikini workout, I advise you to find something else.
